The Complex Event Recognition (CER) group at the Institute of Informatics and 
Telecommunications of NCSR "Demokritos" is seeking to fill two research 
positions. The CER group works towards advanced and efficient methods for the 
recognition of complex events in Big Data streams. The positions will be funded 
by two EU Big Data projects (FP7-ICT and H2020). 

The positions to be filled are described below:

1. Complex event recognition.

The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in computer science, 
excellent programming skills, and solid knowledge of artificial intelligence, 
mathematical logic, probability theory and statistics.
Preference will be given to candidates with a postgraduate degree in computer 
science, research experience in artificial intelligence, and functional 
programming skills.

2. Complex event recognition under uncertainty.

The successful candidate will have undergraduate and postagraduate degrees in 
computer science, excellent programming skills, research experience in 
artificial intelligence, and solid knowledge of mathematical logic, probability 
theory and statistics.
Preference will be given to candidates with a PhD in artificial intelligence, 
research experience in machine learning, and functional programming skills.
