Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Institute, National Robotics Engineering Center (NREC) is looking for highly qualified postdoctoral researchers with strong interests in the following areas:
- Machine learning in robotics (focused on, but not limited to classification, imitation learning, reinforcement learning) - Perception - Path planning for mobile robots - Language grounding in robotics Job description: A successful candidate should have in-depth experience with machine learning, perception, and mobile robots, demonstrated in publications in relevant conferences and journals (RSS, ICRA, IROS, AAAI, IJCAI, AAMAS, HRI, ICML, NIPS, UAI, JFR, IJRR, etc.). The job will require the candidate to independently conduct research in machine learning techniques for robot planning, perception, and intelligence, develop software that reduces this research to practice, and publish the results. Several field testing trips may be required. This position is for one year, with potential for renewal for a second year. This position is in Pittsburgh, PA, USA.
