Dear Colleague,
[Apologies in advance, if you receive multiple copies of this CFP due to cross-posting] Call for Papers: The 2nd International Workshop on Smart Simulation and Modelling for Complex Systems (SSMCS2015) To be held in conjunction with the 24th International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI 2015<http://ijcai-15.org/>) Buenos Aires, 25 - 31 July 2015 Scope and Background Computer based modelling and simulation has become useful tools to facilitate humans to understand systems in different domains, such as physics, astrophysics, chemistry, biology, economics, engineering and social science. A complex system is featured with a large number of interacting components (agents, processes, etc.), whose aggregate activities are nonlinear and self-organized. Complex systems are hard to be simulated or modelled by using traditional computational approaches due to complex relationships among system components, distributed features of resources, and dynamics of environments. Meanwhile, smart systems such as multi-agent systems have demonstrated advantages and great potentials in modelling and simulating complex systems. The 2nd International Workshop on Smart Simulation and Modelling for Complex Systems (SSMCS2015) aims to bring together researchers in both artificial intelligence and system modelling/simulation to discuss research challenges and cutting edge techniques in smart simulation and modelling. The topics of SSMCS include but are not limited to: * Agent based simulation for complex systems * Agent based modelling for complex systems * Large-scale simulations * Network simulation and modelling * Environment and ecosystem simulation and modelling * Smart Grid/Service simulation and modelling * Simulation of social and economic organizations * Simulation of social complexity * Cooperation, coordination, negotiation and self-organisation in complex systems * Market-based model and simulation * Transportation model and simulation * Crowd model and simulation * Evacuation model and simulation * Human behaviour modelling, learning and simulations Smart simulation and modelling is an important field in AI. We believe that this special session will attract attentions from not only AI researchers, but also domain experts who are interested in the applications of AI techniques in system modelling and simulation. Important Dates * Submission to contributions to the workshop: April 27, 2015 * Workshop paper acceptance notification: May 20, 2015 * Deadline for final camera ready copy to workshop organizer: May 30, 2015 * IJCAI2015 workshops: July 25-27, 2015 Submission We encourage submission in Springer SCI format. You can find the format requirements on Springer SCI website: http://www.springer.com/series/7092. The length of papers should not be more than 12 pages. All submissions must include the author's name(s), affiliation, and email address. Submission is entirely automated by a paper management tool, which is available from the main web site: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ssmcs2015<https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ssmcs2013>. Authors must first register their own account by obtaining a password, and then follow the instructions. All accepted papers will be provided an oral presentation at the workshop. Each paper will be reviewed by at least two PC members or experts in the field. Multiple submission policy for papers: Papers that are being submitted to other conferences, whether verbatim or in essence, must reflect this fact on the title page. Papers that do not meet this requirement are subject to rejection without review. Accepted Paper (TBA) Post-Proceeding Publication The extended version of the accepted papers will be included in the post-proceedings (book) of the workshop, which will be published by Springer. Registration Please register the workshop via IJCAI 2015 conference web page<http://ijcai-15.org/>.
