Applications are invited for a lectureship in the Mathematics of Data
Science. The University of Edinburgh and the School of Mathematics are
partners in a consortium that will lead the UK's Alan Turing Institute, a
major initiative that will drive research and investment in the data science
area in coming years. We seek an outstanding candidate with either an
existing track record of high-quality research in an area which is related
to data science, or strong evidence of high research potential. Candidates
from any relevant subject area of mathematics (pure or applied), statistics,
or operational research will be considered. The successful applicant will be
expected to carry out independent research and to contribute to the teaching
of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

The closing date for applications is 5pm (UK time) on 14 April 2015 and the
post is available at a mutually agreed date from 1 August 2015.
