1. One possibility is to use some GPIOs and configure them on all board to detect the board version, read these GPIOs in the u-boot code and take board variant specific execution/configuration. 2. One can have similar approach keeping some data in separate EEPROM. 3. one can read availability of specific h/w on the board. Of which #3 will be better but may not be suitable for all boards variant. I personally do not like this method. Since there is always chance to have wrong configuration. I would always prefer to have build time configuration passing as per board variant. Regards..
