The OE example is exactly why I want to avoid =+. You cannot interchangeably use += and =+ as they evaluate differently. See https://www.yoctoproject.org/docs/3.1/bitbake-user-manual/bitbake-user-manual.html#appending-and-prepending and that =+ there is the opposite of what we want. So, more confusion. -- Tom
