Well, there _is_ a lot of confusion For example, how big is (ummm: was) a standard 3.5" floppy disk? 1.44 MB, right? Well, actually it's 1474560 bytes, or 1440 * 1024 bytes. So this "MB" here is 1000 * 1024 - which is complete nonsense. Let's use the official standard units, please. We may not like them, but at least they will not cause a $125 million Mars orbiter to crash...
