Full circle, nice. So has anybody any suggestions what to do? The problem I see is that we need yet another non-standard tool (gitdm) which AFAICT is not part of the standard distros. Including this into U-Boot seems not attractive to me; keeping it outside (as I'm doing it now) means you need the config files outside the U-Boot tree as well.
