Dann kann ich mir nur noch vorstellen, dass dir eine Extension die installiert ist dazwischen funkt. Mal im Extension-Manager eine nach der anderen raus nehmen und schauen ob was geht. Eine andere möglichkeit wäre noch das hier: am ende war ich wohl selbst der übeltäter die firefox extension "ad-block plus" hat aus irgendwelchen gründen die *thumbnails* *im* *backend* geblockt.
