The bottom line is writing data across a network is slower than writing to the local disk, your speeds probably reflect the times to copy a large file between the local drive and network drives. ICS V6 FTP uses buffered I/O that writes much larger blocks, which may help with absolute speed, but the relative speeds may be the same. You could also download the file to the local drive, and then copy it to the NAS drive once it's completed.
