For what it's worth, there was a good recent edition of "The Town" podcast that had a guest from Nielsen explaining exactly how ratings are measured in 2025.
https://www.theringer.com/podcasts/the-town-with-matthew-belloni/2025/03/06/how-the-hell-do-nielsen-ratings-actually-work While the press still likes to talk about same-day or overnight ratings, for anything scripted, they're really not so relevant today when you don't need to sit down at 9pm to watch your favourite show. Nielsen does indeed measure IP-based viewing, and they also now fully measure out of home (which has definitely helped pump some of those Super Bowl numbers). As for the Fox live viewership, I wonder to what extent that is an aging audience?
