That’s a great description Joe. I watched him yesterday and struggled, torn between not wanting to be cynical about his very moving, seemingly authentic reaction on the one hand, and the persistent thoughts of: “Dude, you have lived your entire life among college football players, is today really the first day you have understood the racism they have been dealing with forever?“
When Doc Rivers got emotional, it wasn’t because he just figured out police were more likely to kill or treat him or his sons with violence; it was out of exhaustion that this far into the 21st century he still has to fight it.
