Knowing many involved in the broadcast, they make it their business to make all the performers look good.
When I was head of security on dcpi shows, I connected a VCR to the live feed on the presumption that, since they hired an idiot like me to be head of security, I was going to need a record of when things went wrong. So I still have soundchecks and rehearsal footage of big named artists acting belligerent, high as a kite, throwing temper tantrums, and on and on. And in spite of musicians and singers who did nothing but blame the production team for their own flaws, the company always, without exception, bent over backwards to make the talent look and sound good. The conditions in NYC on NYE are atypical for a live concert. Performers cannot hear themselves or their music. If the in-ear monitors go out, there is nothing to be done. Nobody to blame. Shit happens. On Wed, Jan 4, 2017 at 1:28 PM Marti Lawrence <[email protected]> wrote: > I am not a big fan of Mariah, but I don't want to see anyone fail as much > as she did.
