I am looking for recommendations for a good British detective television
show. To ask this I have to make a confession: I had never watched Foyle's
War until recently. I watched the first episode one afternoon late this
summer and watched about 5 in a row. Finished the lot in relatively short
order. I guess I am asking for more like that please.

Wikipedia says that Foyle kind of took the place of Inspector Morse. I
watched the first episode, did not dislike it, but didn't fall in love
either. For other reasons I re-watched all of Spooks, but now am looking
for something else in a British accent. I have started watching "Death in
Paradise" after Kevin mentioned it recently here (that was how I noticed
that Netflix can be accessed through Xfinity now). As Kevin says, it is
very likable, though not at the level of something like Foyle.

I am open to the view that Morse is worth staying with, or to some other
suggestion. I have of course seen Sherlock, and Broadchurch.
