Well taken and now I remember--I'm sure Julie loved having to play the Beatles and "The America." So many old school full-service MOR stations spent the 70s trying to sound hipper without losing their base and ended up seeing their audience go to FM. Rather than go to right-wing talk and with a lot of its long-timers still on staff (and Jonathan Schwartz wanting to play Sinatra instead of the Talking Heads on the FM), NEW decided to bite the bullet and go back to the pre-rock standards and was very successful at it (and watched Top 40 giant WABC go right-wing talk).
