We could have a related situation down South tonight.

NBC is carrying Game 5 of the Pittsburgh-Washington series at 7:15ET, following
Kentucky Derby coverage.

NBC is also carrying a new episode of SNL at 11:30.

There is some wiggle room – decided-in-regulation hockey games usually take 2½
hours, and NBC currently has an easily-dropped/expanded 30-minute SNL repeat
planned for 10:30.

However, NBCSN is carrying a Western semifinal beginning at 10. So if the
Crosby/Ovechkin match-up goes a few extra rounds, will NBC punt coverage over
to CNBC/USA? Or will Lorne go live-to-tape?

See how it plays out tonight on “Hockey Night in America.”
