Alex Lowe, the top climber in the world 20 years ago, and cameraman David 
Bridges, with whom he was working on a skiing docufilm for NBC Sports, were 
buried in an avalanche on the slope of Shishapangma mountain in Tibet in 
1999... a German and a Swiss came across them the other week, notifying 
Conrad Anker, lone survivor of the calamity who went on to marry Lowe's 
widow and raise their kids... NBC News
