I am an admitted fan of the "Star Trek: Continues" fan fiction series.
"Renegades" has a decent group of actors and good CGI, but the practical
sets were as flimsy as those seen in "The Honeymooners." And though I also
like the JJ helmed Trek movies, they by nature contain more shoot-em-up
scenes and explosions (and less plot/story) than standard Trek episodes.
There is room for everyone in the Federation... one would hope that CBS
will realize that eventually.
