I'm also tired of the "women are discriminated against in the writer's
room" stories. If someone wanted to write about how the recent trend
is to take a woman who looks (note I simply said looks) like the bimbo
stereotype and have her stand on a stage and tell jokes because guys
and gals pay attention to attractive women, that's a story I'd welcome
(because it belittles women who want to be recognized for their
writing skills). But that story involves layers of depth and
entertainment journalism isn't known for that. Easier to grossly
stereotype that Hollywood hates women.
