Hi Julen, In an ideal world people would use the latest versions on the browsers for translation work.
In some of the countries, our volunteer translators still use older computers at work, school and public computers in cyber centers. On the hand these countries also have high number of tablet and mobile devices because its easier to get 3G internet or use free public WiFi networks. My take on this to try provide wider coverage of older browsers, multiple screen sizes and network connectivity using web standards and browser shims. It is not easy to do this, but not impossible.
