This might actually be an *excellent* opportunity to tie together a 
number of loose threads - Karsten (in Santa Cruz) knows many of the TOS 
folks in the area, though I'm not sure how much bandwidth he has to pick 
up on this right now. But he is planning an education-related presence 
at SCaLE, so perhaps this would be a good focal point for it.

Karsten, I'm about to catch a flight out of Doha, but could you ping on 
this if you've got bandwidth over the next 5 days?
