Hi All, Sorry for the delay in update, I was away from work.
Doing the checkout in a folder on the C drive as opposed to the Desktop that was being synced with OneDrive fixed the issue. Oddly enough creating a shortcut to the new checkout folder on the desktop still gave me the options for commit and update. Thanks for all your help with this.
