The other two need the .xml > files > to work (they're not even in the host appBase). I agree, but how does a user who is new to Tomcat 5.x discover how to change the docbase of / from "ROOT" to "/content/website"? He/she can't edit the / context via the admin utility. Can't delete and recreate it with the changes you want. The admin webapp should tell you that you can't delete the / context and possibly offer a suggestion on the proper way to make your changes. Just as important, "ROOT.xml" does not exist and there is also mention of needing to create it to override the default docbase. I won't bother you anymore. It's just that I'm fairly familiar with installing 4.x versions of Tomcat and it took me an hour to figure out how to get this done and I was hoping to save future users the trouble. To do this, I'd suggest the following changes: #1: Allow the admin utility to edit the docbase of the / context (best solution). -OR- #2: Create the ROOT.xml file as part of the install so the user at least has a hint of where to go. -- Configure bugmail: http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
