The point I was trying to demonstrate is that this is an issue of context 
isolation as much as logging. 
Both the spec and Tomcat go to some lengths to ensure that webapps running in 
the same JVM can be 
isolated from each other. I just see this as another aspect of that isolation; 
the fact it's related to 
logging is almost incidental. But as you don't think it's appropriate for 
Tomcat, I'll stop bugging you 
now :-)
