Another question - would this work with GoDaddy's Standard SSL ? I am not
sure if I can afford 200$ certificate only for the mail server ( since it
has own subdomain and IP ).

Actually you can use the any ssl for Apache etc. But you need to
create a combined servercert.pem file.
Have a look at the following url:

Save the combined file as digicertpack.pem -- This .pem certificate file
should be ready for installation on
 your Qmail Server.
</snip>

Don't forget to change digicertpack.pem as servercert.pem
