Unfortunately I did not find a user folder nor did I find the user's name in
the files you suggested to search. I am not using MySQL. I hope you have
some other ideas on where to look.

check the system files if the user is still present somewhere. Maybe
qmailadmin has not deleted all the contemplable entries.
/var/qmail/users/assign
/home/vpopmail/domains/domain/user
or in the vpopmail table if you use mysql backend, or check the vpasswd File
in the domain directory if you don´t use mysql
