Hi all,

Since we are all quiet, I thought I'd mention a recent experience installing the
toaster.

This is using Redhat 7.1 on a virtual dedicated server, although this mirrors my
experience on a RH 7.3 dedicated I recently built.

Anyway, I found that for the default configuration it worked just fine if a left the
existing Apache install where it was, since it was already compiled with .so support.

This also meant I didn't require the overrides to the cgi-bin and www root that is in
the toaster setup.

So I just have a question, I'm wondering why we're deleting Apache and changing the
standard cgi-bin and www root locations from Redhat's installation defaults?

For myself it is best to leave as much on the server as-is, and manage it using RH
package management if I can, for simplicity's sake. This seems to work just fine, but
I figure there must be some reason, so I was curious what it might be, and if there is
something I'm overlooking.

Robin
