OK, so now I have this:
* With mouse-mode=on, vim scrolls as expected with the mouse wheel, but "less"
does not: it enters copy mode.
* With mouse-mode=off, vim and "less" both scroll as expected.
I think you may be checking for whether mouse mode is enabled in tmux, but I
don't
think this is what we need to detect. I'm afraid I don't know enough about how
mouse interaction operates in the console to help much more than that. I know
that
Konsole does the Right ThingĀ® but I'm not sure how :s
