Perhaps it would be useful if you at least gave us the text you would like tmux to show so we are discussing something concrete?
I don't object to -h particularly, even if the argument that "people expect it" is clearly spurious. Some people may try it. But it should not duplicate the man page. And personally I'd prefer a "tmux help" command which could do other stuff (eg replace list-commands). Maybe "tmux -h" could change the default command to the new help command?
