I've found the Windows environment to be pretty kludgy/klunky and annoying
to use. Early on I got fed up with it and moved to the Linux environment
and have been very happy with that.

More recently, no one has stepped forward to support the Cygwin environment
with respect to the tool chains. This is a problem because we do not
thave the mspgcc 4.6.3 rpm package which cygwin needs to install
mspgcc-4.6.3 on cygwin based hosts.

I have to use the VMplayer to do this

What are you running inside the VM?

What are you hosting the VM on?

. It is not that good since it needs the VM to penetrate into COM and UART

I don't know nor do I care how to do TinyOS work on Windows XP.
