More good stuff, thanks Alex - I agree that this could be useful. One of 
the things I want to do is have a way of displaying the text of a play (ie; 
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/83055414/macbeth.html) as dialogue that 
syncs with recordings (video or audio) of the play and this style would 
work well. I think this could be very useful for am-dram groups, for 
example, to learn lines and practise scenes.

The thought of little Jack being Mrs. Slocombe's pussy made me laugh... 
probably a bit hard to explain to people who aren't English and didn't grow 
up on a staple diet of bawdy innuendo.
