@Edgaras One general problem with your proposal is how the editor tools no longer are available at all. What are your thoughts on this matter?
If one only looks at simple markup, i.e punctuation-to-HTML then this is not a problem but there are other tools like, say, stamp or excision that are not directly accessible from mere markup.
