Sam/Robert, THANK YOU FOR RESPONDING...
Sam: Yes, "make install"... Initially I was building a kernel to get VirtualBox working. The VB folks don't want to fool around with release candidates. I use VB in modest amounts for dangerous/scary/testing kinds of things. I'm a big fan of virtualization! Robert: I'm disturbed when you say dependencies missing. I have checked your list and found that some were missing and some didn't have their "devel" stuff installed as well. My question is, "How can they be missing and yet no error messages are presented"? Maybe I'm not looking in the "right" place? That script you sent looks interesting... I may have questions. I always have questions... Also, I think that silent failure of a command is NOT in anyone's best interests. I'm hoping that someone in "developer land" (upstream?) sees this commentary and takes action. Is that too much to hope for? Things like a full file system for example. I'll be testing the above additions to see if they make a difference in the end result... probably a "dnf reinstall '*kernel*'"... and, of course, report back here. Again, Thanks for responding. libcbor.so.0.12-->libcbor.so.0.12.0 installed this pkg libfuse3.so.3 -->libfuse3.so.3.16.2 added the devel stuff libnsl.so.2 -->libnsl.so.3.0.0 added the devel stuff -- _______________________________________________ test mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/[email protected] Do not reply to spam, report it: https://forge.fedoraproject.org/infra/tickets/issues/new
