Hi Bek,
Just FYI, IRQ assignment for things like the parallel port is usually
controlled by the BIOS, not the OS-level drivers. If you look at your
BIOS settings you'll probably (though not necessarily) find an entry/field
you can change as you see fit.
Same goes for motherboards with embedded sound; you change/disable the
settings via BIOS, not drivers.
