You could use Samba on the Linux side; there is a commercial Samba
client for MacOS, DAVE (http://www.thursby.com/).
Why don't you use Netatalk? It works quite well with Linux, just be sure
to include the latest asun patches if you decide to compile netatalk
from scratch.
