[techtalk] [grrltalk] Elm question

Whenever I send binary attachments with elm, they come across as ascii.  The
format I'm using is 

elm -s [subject] [recipient] < [filename]

I couldn't find anything in the manpage, is there a flag I can use to change
this?  Or should I just use a different mailer?
