Hi, I was asked to email the technical board with our plan to support an application forKubuntu 24.04 to be an LTS release.
After discussing this with the core team we'd like to request a 3 year LTS for Kubuntu. This is our support plan: * I am a core KDE developer, with the support of the KDE community. We can commit to developing bug fixes in KDE for the 3 year period. * I am a member of the KDE packaging team for Debian. I am already practised in back porting fixes. * Our core team can maintain the KDE packages that exist in Ubuntu for the proposed 3 years. * Kubuntu 24.04 components in Launchpad will be branched next week, ready for back porting fixes should the need arise. * I am a longtime user/developer and returning as team lead for the Kubunru team and will take full responsibility for timely updates. I hope that is sufficient to secure a 3 year LTS for Kubuntu. If you have any other questions, please ask.
