Are you talking about the kernel acpi code or bios-related stuff?  Anyway,
I understand that my use case is not the best one -- I just wanted to
make sure my understanding of the patch was correct.

Eventually there are usage scenarios where setting the maximum
performance to 50% (or whatever value) may make sense -- if you want to
save some power, for example.  Anyway, I was just trying to make sure
everyone understands that this patch will, somehow, remove a feature
currently available although I understand my case is absolutely
irrelevant.
