Some of them I have enough control over to run that, but for quite a number I can't. That's why I'm looking for something to run out of band. I should always have access to the iDRACs, but I won't have accounts on all the machines. I'm working on building good enough relatioships with some of the folks who manage their own OS installs and administration so that I can get that kind of access, but I'm not there yet.
Also, this monitoring is targeted at finding the problems that turn on the blinky yellow lights, not higher level stuff like full filesystems.
