So you are proposing to provide more compat than mainstream fuse, and we would add a -D argument to packages that need it, on NetBSD only, and they would continue to fail on other-than-NetBSD? Is the problem that uptreams of useful things are dead, and this is easier than patching them? Sorry if I am being dense, but the big picture is missing.
