The problem I have with that statement is, AFAIK, hivemind and spring essentially do the same thing--IoC and method interception, right? In which case, isn't it sub-optimal to have two complicated libraries doing the same thing in the same framework? I'm not at all familiar with spring, so maybe I'm missing something? I am aware of some of the add-on capabilities like the hibernate session management that you spoke of, but frankly the toughest part of creating the equivalent for hivemind is configuring it correctly.
