Nope. I hadn't solved it yet, other than to inject the name instead of the page and then use the name to get an instance.
I can't use annotations as we are still on 1.4. I've tried the ognl: prefix, and no prefix. Not sure anything else really makes sense. Anyway, at this point I've moved on and am using the injection of the name.
