I would like to say that I learned everything I know about the E6 from
Denise *smile* and others of course answering general Talks questions for
me. However, unlike Denise I did upgrade to Belle and have a short cut
graphic icon on one of my home screens for contacts. If I put my finger on
it for a few seconds it will indeed say contacts and I did not label it
myself with Talks. Touching activates it so when I lift my finger I am in a
list of my contacts and I can arrow down through them as they are arranged
in list form.

You're doing fine it sounds like. The contacts are set up wrong for us to
put on the home screen. It isn't accessible. They appear as a group of
some
kind and we can't sepearate them into individuals. But I don't know if you
are aware that both messaging and contacts have there own keys. So it
isn't
really necessary for them to be on the home screen anyway. They are easily
accessed through their short cut keys. I've modified my shortcut keys so
I'm
trying to remember which is which, but you can find them under settings. I
think they're called one touch keys. I think the key closest to the right
side of the center arrow keys on the top of the bar is contacts and right
under that is messaging. It may originally be set up as email, but it can
be
changed to messaging if you want it to be. They actually work two ways. A
long press gives you one action of that key and a short press gives you
another action for that key. I think I have contacts as the short press
and
messaging as the long press. I put settings right under that as the short
press and file manager as the long press.
These same two keys exist directly left of the center arrow keys as well
with the same two actions long and short presses. The top one is menu and
can't be changed which is a shame since that's also on the touch screen,
but
I guess it gives folks another option if they don't want to use the touch
screen. the one under it is the calendar. This can be chaged under
settings
as well to two other items if you wish.
I hope this makes sense. It's fine if you contact me directly I don't mind
that. I've just been busy this weekend. I'm involved in several fantasy
football leagues so the weekends and monday night are busy keeping up with
them all. smile.

Hi,
I seem to be making some progress, I can select a new home screen and
Talks
says edit home screen.
I then click options and the available menu option there is wigit galary.
It doesn't seem to have things like contacts and messaging in there,
everything seems to begin with a zero.
I tried to copy a shortcut to the desktop and it seemed to work o.k. and
placed an icon on the top row of the screen.
Am I doing something wrong to find the correct shortcuts, I would just
like
to put messaging and contacts on my home screen really.

You
should only click links if you are sure they are from a trusted source.
unless you have some sight, I wouldn't update the e6 to Belle. Right now
you
can edit and change things around on the touch screen. If you upgrade to
belle that's no longer accessible without some sight.

Hi friends,
Does anyone have a copy of the Nokia E6 firmware updater?
I tried the link on the BlindSea web site but it doesn't seem to work and
I
couldn't find it on the Nokia site.
