agreed! when you look at the very limited amount of things one can do with
talks phones, compared to what one can do with iPhone or android, is it
really worth sticking with talks?
ok, they can be a pane at first, as the systems are so very different, but
if I am being totally honest, the only reason I keep a talks phone going at
all now, is because it is handy to have an older phone that is still
accessible, when I have to leave it in places that are not very secure, when
I go horse riding or open water swimming for example, rather than leaving an
expensive android or iPhone around.

Malcolm, I totally agree with you but from a personal perspective, I feel
it's time to move on which is why I'm going from Talks to iPhone.

I would have to agree Malcolm and like I say I have iOS devices but not for
my phone, it's Talks all the way and the buttons of course.

Does this mean the end of the truly accessible mobile phone?
Over the last 9 years Talks has given me and others access to technology
others take for granted.
Thanks to all involved with Talks I remain indebted to you.

Microsoft will not take ownership of Nokia phone stuff until 2014. That is
when it is set to close at the end of the 1st quarter.
As of now, the only phones that run Symbian are a few years old. Your best
bet is to check Amazon and or EBay. I've sene phones on both web site that
have buttons. Phones like the E71, E72, E75, E6, N95*, N96, N97*, N85/N86,
and others.
From what I've read; Wants Microsoft takes ownership of the Nokia phone
stuff! They will then only be producing phones that run Microsoft Windows
phone and there will not be any S40 phones produced at that point. Not
that
they do us any good being we can't use them anyway.

There haven't been any new Nokia phones running any version of the
symbian
OS in some time now. I think the last model was the 808 or something like
that . Most are touch screen with some having a qwerty keyboard. I would
suggest searching places like amazon or ebay. Bernard is right, the phone
division of Nokia is now owned by Microsoft and will more than likely
produce windows based products along with their series 40 (Nokia's
propriatary OS) style phones.

You might be able to get some through ebay. They went to all touch
screen phones and their market share dropped to three
percent. Microsoft recently purchased nokia. I heard a news item
this morning about a new range of nokia taqblets just released. They
are similar to apple's ipad and the samsung tablets. They fordcast
next year that more tablets will be sold than conventional laptops.
I guess it depends on the type of push button phone you want either a
standard number pad or a full qwerty keyboard. I've have owned an
e72-2 for a number of years and just hope it will never die or at
least not in the near future as it's still perfect . I have both
talks and mobile speak for this phone but rarely use mobilespeak as
talks is much better over all.
