I think it was stated on list not to long ago not to use the updater because
of that. Now saying that it still can be updated if the phone has the over
the air feature. You can check this by going into the device manager and
pressing soft key 1 and seeing if that option is there. It will probably say
someting like check for updates. If you do it this way you will not lose
anything you have installed on the phone.

Loaded up me nokia software updater and had only 2 choices download and
exit, clicked on download and it installed the latest version of updater
which doesn't seem to be Jaws 12 friendly at all once it went to the new
version, so I uninstalled and reinstalled my old version again.
Can I update my firmware as a blind person alone on my n86 without losing
