It reads on mine even before this latest release of Talks. I did not upgrade
the firmware I must admit. To get the symbol list I hit the Edit key twice.
There are emoticans which Talks does not read. They are in a symbol-type table.

oh yes, I forgot to mention that, the symbol list still does not read at all
on my e5, my second phone.
