My apology. I will do that though what you said about getting Talks to
speak them in text messaging.

As far as I can tell the phones do not have that symbol in the list.

You misunderstood me. I do not know what the particular punctuation mark
is
called when going through my list of
Punctuation. I wanted someone to tell ME what it is called. I produced
the
symbol on on0PC but now I an replying on my phone I cannot reproduce it. I
achieved the symbol on my PC BY hitting Caps ke and the number 6 on my
qwerty keyboard. I do not use Jaws but Supernova. It is announced by my
screen reader as up arrow and THERE is NO up arrow choice ON my phone
with Talks. Hope that is clearer. original message-

Just go into a new text message, then bring up the Talks settings with
Talks
long soft key1 and then arrow to the right to the dictionary tab and add
the
things you want spoken. Just make sure you save them to the current
program
and not global/system. After all, they aren't needed in most places. That
is
all is needed.

I want to write this symbol ^ on my phone but do not know how to achieve
it.
It is part of the emoticon for Approve which has the following punctuation
^-) Is it possible to get Talks to announce correctly all the various
emoticans?
