but when if you transfer your money from one bank to another bank, it is indeed involve some charges, although both are your own accounts. so it is the same with transfering talks from one phone to another phone. however, i still feel that the transfering fee for talks is reasonable comparing buying an iPhone which the screenreader price included with every unit.

If it's the save ratio with Talks new license and moving over to another phone, no one will want to do any transaction with a bank. Imagine you making a money transfer of 100k, how much you pay for fee? Hehe. And by the way, If I am transferring money from my 1st savings to my 2nd savings account, there will be no charges involved in what so ever way. ----- Original Message ----- From: Eleanor Burke To: Talks Mailing List Sent: Sunday, March 13, 2011 3:40 AM Subject: Re: [Talks] FW: A plug John it is reasonable that there is an administrative charge. I fully understand the level of resource required by the developers in producing and marketing the product. It is good value in a very small marketplace. Of course, that does not take away the fact the blind people have to pay this extra cost for something everybody else does not need to. That is not a fault of the development companies, who have to make a living. I guess that could be viewed as a DLA issue. Equally, when there is a significant upgrade to Talks I have no problem with paying for an upgraded licence. I do, however, find the £50 for a licence transfer an issue. We have already paid for a licence to use Talks. The transfer of the licence from one phone to another is required to avoid, or at least limit, piracy of their software, which is fully understandable . Talknav do provide a simple and easy means of transferring the licence. It is done without human intervention, in most cases, and its real on-going cost to Talknav and Nuance is minimal. The development of the Ap to do that should not have been a complex task in these days of tools to assist in "shopping" utilities. I really think that the price of the transfer should bear some relationship to the cost of it. After all, we are only paying for the privilege of moving a licence we have already paid for to another phone, which we have also paid for by one means or another. I really do believe that in the fully automated world we live in that this fee should be reduced. Clearly, I do not know if the level of the fee is set by Nuance or the dealership network.
