Hi Eleanor

How can I confuse you? Ok I don't use predictive text, I
think I'd make too many mistakes that way. If I press number
1 and I want to get to the apostrophe, I have to keep
pressing it until I get to it but if I stop a second too
long it puts in the character I landed on and have to start
again, this can be frustrating. It's not the easiest
character to get to. It's a pity we can't select the order
in which we want the punctuation. There are some characters
we use more than others.

Regards

Adrien

Well Adrian now you confuse me! Have you not been usisng
the apostrophy in
your text messages up to now? The quick way to do it is
this and it works!
Say the it's. Well after you write it then hit number one
key on the
numeric pad once. This produces a full stop. Not to worry
ignore Talks
saying period. Just go ahead and put the s and the text
will correct your
full stop to an apostrophy. This is in predictive text
though. I do not
know about standard text. Another point worth noting is
that in predictive
text if you are writing it's then when you hit the s Talks
will quite
rightly say P. You must then down arrow which will bring up
the options and
you need to arrow down to S and to select it.

Why are you not upgrading your firmware? I have found it
beneficial to do
so in particular when reading e-mail messges. It is not
ideal still the
reading of e-mails on the C5 but it is improved a little
from the previous
firmware.

Eleanor

Hi Eleanor

No problem, I have not up-graded talks, I am still with the
original version.

Out of interest, when I am looking for the apostrophe, is
there an easy way of putting it in instead of going through
all the punctuation on key 1?

Adrien

Talks Premium - running recent release 17 February 2011 on
C5. Does not
read all punctuation. Anyone else having this problem. If
in Predictive
Text I hit the full stop (number one on the keypad) and then
down arrow to
get my choice of punctuation items 6 and 7 are silent.
These I have
discovered are apostrophy and hyphen. Any clues why Talks
does not read
these please?
