When you are in OVI Maps! Talks sees nothing on the first screen at all. This is true for the 2nd screens as well where you needs to make other selections. After that, it seems to work well. So no you can't lable the icons for OVI Maps on the 1st or 2nd screens being Talks doesn't see anything.

As far as speaking turns and the like will depend on how you have the OVI Maps settings set to. If you have drive mavigation set to the voice you want with street name! Then yes OVI Maps will speak the street names. Same goes for setting the Walk Nagivation to the voice you want with Street Names. These two functions will work even with no screen reader on the phone at all. The OVI Maps shortcuts like for Option 1, 2, 8 etc... will also speak being these are OVI Maps shortcuts and not screen reader shortcuts.

Subject: [Talks] The Nokia E72 with talks: Labeling icons and other OVImapps questions

Hi all,

I have a Nokia E72 on which I am running a demonstration version of
MobileSpeak. I would prefer to switch back to Talks so have the
following questions.

1. Has anyone tried labeling the icons in the initial screen? I am
talking about icons like "my position, drive, favorites etc.

2. Does Talks speak your position in the "my position" applet?

3. Similarly, does Talks speak the next turn once a route has been plotted?

4. What parts of the Ovi maps application, specifically version 3.04
do not speak with Talks?

Pranav
